ORLANDO, Fla. -- A judge ruled Thursday that a crucial 911 recording in which Casey Anthony's mother tells a dispatcher that her daughter's car smells like a dead body can be used during the first-degree murder trial.

In an emotional hearing that brought Anthony and her mother to tears, Chief Judge Belvin Perry ruled that the audio recording can be heard in next May's trial. The entire Anthony family was in court together for the first time in more than a year.

He was on a boat on Lake St. Clair at about 2:30 p.m. when he began experiencing chest pains, said Windsor Regional Hospital spokeswoman Gisele Sullens.

He collapsed on the boat and his father-in-law, Dan Parkinson, administered CPR, Sullens said. Windsor EMS transported him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
